FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

What is the difference between the MICRO-226™ and MICRO-193™?

The primary difference is optical centerline height. The MICRO-226™ provides a 2.26" height for aheads-up shooting posture, while the MICRO-193™ offers a 1.93" height. Both share identical construction quality, materials, and mounting technology. The MICRO-226™ is slightly more modular and accepts additional accessories like our RMR-45™ and ACRO-45™ offset mounts.

Which height should I choose - 1.93" or 2.26"?

The 2.26" height is ideal for shooters who prefer a heads-up shooting position, absolute co-witness with backup iron sights, or need additional clearance for night vision devices and magnifier combinations. Choose 1.93" if you prefer a more compact profile with lower third co-witness.

What does "FORTRESS™ accessory ready" mean?

This refers to our FORTRESS™ series accessories like our DB-226™ Diving Board for additional rail space, and compatibility with offset mounts for backup optics or IR devices. The MICRO-226™ offers maximum modularity in our MICRO™ footprint lineup.

What is the torque specification for installation?

The K-Clamp™ mounting system requires 25 in-lbs of torque. Over-torquing can damage the rail system or mount. Always use a quality torque wrench for installation.

Will this co-witness with my iron sights?

No

Technical & Performance

How does the K-Clamp™ technology work?

Our patent-pending K-Clamp™ utilizes titanium components to distribute clamping force evenly across the Picatinny rail, preventing rail deformation while ensuring return-to-zero capability. The entire Kastle mount recesses down into the picatinny rail giving you a proprietary two point recoil lug system optimized at the front and rear of the mount compared to traditional mounting systems that only provide minimal recoil mitigation utilizing a single recoil lug at the center of the mounting interface or even worse interfaces that utilize the crossbolts as primary recoil lugs.

What's the difference between Type III anodizing and standard finishes?

Type III MIL SPEC hardcoat anodizing provides superior corrosion resistance and surface hardness compared to standard Type II finishes, ensuring long-term durability in harsh environments.

Can this mount handle full-auto fire?

Absolutely. The MICRO-226™ has been tested extensively with full-automatic select fire weapons systems and maintains zero under extreme conditions.

What's the expected lifespan of this mount?

With proper installation and normal use, the MICRO-226™ is designed for indefinite service life. That's why we back it with our lifetime warranty.

Why choose the 2.26" height over other options?

The 2.26" height provides the optimal balance for heads-up shooting posture, absolute co-witness capability, night vision compatibility It's the preferred height for professional users who need maximum versatility.
